& Tommy Lee Jones Tommy Lee Jones, Burt Lancaster & Tom Berenger Movie Reviews Tommy Lee Jones || Burt Lancaster || Tom Berenger I've been going through a major movie-watching jag, and this time my viewing habits have concentrated on three actors: Tommy Lee Jones, Burt Lancaster and Tom Berenger. I've enjoyed learning more about these gentlemen's bodies of work. After seeing so many different movies, I decided to write these reviews pages and share my impressions. Not everyone is crazy enough to watch so many movies in rapid succession, after all, so I didn't want my experiences go to waste! The goal of the reviews: I give my overall impression of the movie—whether I enjoyed it or thought it was good. Since I initially saw the movie because of a specific actor, I will try to put a spotlight on their role in the movie. However, I try to give some sort of overview of the film and its other cast and creators as well. "Cautions" about violence and nudity are sometmes given, and I'll mention other elements that some viewers may wish to avoid (or consider assets!). About me, the reviewer: I'm not a professional movie reviewer, but I've never been at a loss for an opinion. I consider myself to be reasonably discerning, but tend to be a little on the forgiving side—not apt to let a few problems or weaknesses in a movie sour me on the whole thing. So, bear this in mind when you read my reviews. I often mention the flaws I notice in films, and yet I'll often still recommend them. Just because I liked it doesn't mean that it is Oscar-quality and absolutely perfect! Another thing to remember about my reviews—even though I don't consider myself exceedingly "prudish", I am not a big fan of extremely violent or sexually explicit films. Nudity doesn't really bother me so much, though. (I think it's from all the years of drawing nude models in art class!) I will still recommend films with explicit sex and violence in them, though—but it's only fair to confess that I view these films with that built-in bias. But then, we all have biases, don't we? Review Ratings: * 1 star notes a film with hardly any redeeming value. ** 2 stars are for a film that is pretty bad, but may have a few decent qualities. A die-hard fan may want to see the film out of curiosity. *** 3 stars is "average". It may have a few serious flaws or just be dull, but there are a enough worthwhile things in it to perhaps make it worth a look. **** 4 stars are for a film that is quite good in many areas, but may have a few problems. ***** 5 stars are for a top-rate film. The main actor may or may not have a predominant role, but no matter how much they are in it, the film is very good and worth seeing! Tommy Lee Jones || Burt Lancaster || Tom Berenger
