Corel's WordPerfect 11 (and also version 12) word processing software has a new feature: with a few adjustments in WP's settings, you can get the "look" of that old favorite, WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS. Cool! (Click on thumbnail image to the right to see full view.)

You quickly move in and out of the WP 5.1 DOS "look" by simply changing the settings within WordPerfect 11 or 12.

To access this setting in your version of WordPerfect 11, go to Tools >> Settings. Click on Display in the Settings box. Then you will see a check box for Classic Mode (WP 5.1). Click on it, and close all the Settings boxes. Voila! You are now in a very convincing facsimile of WordPerfect 5.1 for DOS! Enjoy!

If your installation of WordPerfect 11 does not have this feature available, it simply means that you need to add it—get out your CD for WP 11, go to "Add/Remove Programs" in Windows Control Panel, and be ready to "modify" your installation of WP 11. Choose to add the "Classic Mode" feature in WordPerfect.
